This page gathers the instructions for the GeoMarco Sync app and the GeoMarco plugin for QGIS.

GeoMarco Sync app

The app is installed and set up on the Alpha 40 when the equipment is delivered, with the activation key included. Updates arrive through the app itself: tap Check for updates, or wait for the update notice; the app checks at most once a day.

Google Play Protect warning

Because the app is distributed from geomarco.pt and not from the Play Store, Android may show warnings when installing or updating. This is normal for a new app outside the store.

• If you see App scan recommended, tap Scan app. Android sends the app to Google for a check and then continues the installation.
• If you see This app may be harmful, tap More details and choose the option to install anyway.
• Only do this when the installation was started by the GeoMarco Sync app or by a file downloaded from the geomarco.pt site. If in doubt, do not install and contact us.

GeoMarco plugin for QGIS

Current version: 0.4.4. Requires QGIS 3.22 or later.

Option A: GeoMarco repository (recommended)

Set it up once and QGIS will tell you when new versions are available.

• In QGIS, open Plugins → Manage and Install Plugins → Settings.
• Under Plugin repositories, click Add. Name: GeoMarco. URL: https://geomarco.pt/qgis/plugins.xml
• Click OK, then Reload all repositories.
• In the All tab, search for GeoMarco and click Install Plugin.

Option B: ZIP file

Download the plugin at https://geomarco.pt/downloads/geomarco_dimap.zip

• In QGIS, open Plugins → Manage and Install Plugins → Install from ZIP.
• Choose geomarco_dimap.zip and click Install Plugin.
• To update, repeat with the latest ZIP. Close and reopen QGIS after updating.

After installing

• The plugin appears in the Vector → GeoMarco menu and on the toolbar.
• Import DiMap project from Google Drive: click Sign in with Google and use the same account as the controller (requires the GeoMarco Sync app).
• Import DiMap project from a local folder: choose the project folder copied from the controller (the one with surveydata.db).
• View point photo (camera icon): click a point to see its photo and RTK quality.
