Privacy policy
Last updated: 8 November 2026.
Who we are and the role of each party
The GeoMarco Sync app and the GeoMarco plugin for QGIS are provided by Ecobosque, Lda., Portuguese tax number 517246783, registered at Rua da Cruz de Pedra, 199, Braga, Portugal ("Ecobosque", "we"). The Map3Dpro shop, where the Alpha 40 equipment is sold, is a business of Ecobosque, Lda.
Privacy contact: geral@map3dpro.pt.
This policy distinguishes three situations:
- Survey data (points, RTK logs and project photos). Ecobosque does not receive, store or have access to this data. It stays in the user's own Google account. For this data, the user is the controller and decides what is collected and how it is used.
- Data from the geomarco.pt website, contacts and support. Ecobosque is the controller.
- Map3Dpro shop customer data. Ecobosque is the controller.
App and plugin data
With the user's permission, the GeoMarco Sync app and the GeoMarco plugin for QGIS access the Google account with the drive.file scope. This scope only gives access to files created by the app itself, not to the rest of the Google Drive.
The app reads the files of the DiMap Pro projects the user selects (point database, field log and photos) solely to copy them to the user's Google Drive. The plugin reads those files from the user's Google Drive to display them in QGIS.
The app stores the address of the chosen Google account on the controller itself, only to show it and to send the files to the right account. That address is not sent to Ecobosque.
Survey data and third parties
Survey data may contain information that identifies land parcels and, indirectly, their owners, as well as people appearing in photos. The user is responsible for processing this data lawfully, in particular for having a legal basis and informing data subjects where applicable.
Purposes
The data is used exclusively to:
- sync the user's projects to their Google Drive;
- display the projects in QGIS;
- answer support requests and contacts (website and email).
We do not sell data, use it for advertising, build profiles or share it with third parties, except for the providers listed in this document.
Use of data received from Google APIs
The use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements: https://developers.google.com/terms/api-services-user-data-policy
Local storage
Only technical data stays on the device and the computer: sync status, error log and credentials kept by Android or by the QGIS authentication manager. The error log is not sent to any external service.
The geomarco.pt website
The website is static and hosted by Cloudflare, Inc. We do not use our own cookies, advertising scripts, social media buttons or browser storage. Fonts are hosted on the website itself, so visiting geomarco.pt does not contact Google servers.
- Usage statistics. We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to obtain aggregated statistics: pages viewed, country and approximate region (from the IP address), referring site, device type and browser, and performance metrics. This tool does not set cookies or store data in the browser and does not track visitors across sites. Legal basis: Ecobosque's legitimate interest in understanding how its website is used (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
- Technical cookie. The website may use the __cf_bm cookie, set by Cloudflare, to distinguish human from automated traffic and protect the service against abuse. It is strictly necessary for the security of the service, lasts about 30 minutes, and is not used for advertising or to track the visitor.
Demo requests
When you fill in the demo request form, we process the name, company, email, phone, town, activity and message you provide, only to answer your request and arrange the demo. Legal basis: steps taken at your request before entering into a contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR). The website does not store this data: it is sent by email to Ecobosque through Brevo and kept for 12 months after we reply, unless you become a customer. To block automated submissions, the form uses Cloudflare Turnstile, which checks technical browser signals without advertising cookies.
Map3Dpro shop
For orders and invoicing, we process name, email, address, tax number and order details. Legal basis: performance of the purchase contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR) and compliance with tax obligations (Art. 6(1)(c)). We keep invoicing data for the legal period of 10 years. The shop runs on the Jumpseller platform. Payments are processed by Easypay, which processes payment data as an independent controller.
Processors and transfers
- Google LLC: stores the files in the user's Google account, under Google's privacy policy and terms.
- Cloudflare, Inc.: hosts the website and provides the aggregated statistics on behalf of Ecobosque, under its Data Processing Addendum (https://www.cloudflare.com/cloudflare-customer-dpa/). Cloudflare is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework and uses standard contractual clauses for transfers outside the European Economic Area.
- Jumpseller: the Map3Dpro online shop platform, which processes order data on behalf of Ecobosque under its data processing agreement.
- Brevo (Sendinblue SAS, France): sends the demo form requests by email on behalf of Ecobosque, under its data processing agreement.
Retention
- Data in the user's Google Drive: until the user deletes it or revokes the app's access.
- Local technical data: removed when the app or the plugin is uninstalled.
- Support and contact data: 12 months after the request is resolved.
- Cloudflare aggregated data: for the period set by Cloudflare for the service.
- Customer data: for the legal period stated above.
Legal basis
- Service and support: performance of a contract or pre-contractual steps (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR).
- Website and statistics: legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f)).
- Invoicing: compliance with legal obligations (Art. 6(1)(c)).
Your rights
You may at any time request access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability and object to the processing of the data we process, by writing to geral@map3dpro.pt. You can also revoke the app's access to your Google account at myaccount.google.com, under Security, Third-party connections.
You have the right to lodge a complaint with the Portuguese data protection authority, Comissão Nacional de Proteção de Dados (www.cnpd.pt).
End of service
If the app and the plugin are discontinued, we will notify users 3 months in advance. After that, the code will be released as open source on GitHub under the Apache 2.0 licence. Files in users' Google Drive are not affected.
Changes
We may update this policy. The date of the last update is shown at the top. Substantial changes will be announced by email to users who have contacted us and by a notice on the geomarco.pt website.
